AGM Review

Right... now that I've had a bit of a breather, here's the quick AGM summary. Yes, I have spent 6 hours in the back of the Beta Coupe (in total), more time than I actually spent being at the AGM itself.

I have to say that this AGM had a pretty good turnout compared to the one last year. Still, nothing will beat the AGM in 2005. I don't know what to make out of the new system where you have the actual meeting on Saturday and the concours on Sunday. Lots of pros and cons here I guess. From talking to the Lancia crowd I gathered that some LMC members couldn't attend both days, so they had to choose what day they are going to make an appearance. Some chose the meeting, and since I only attended the Sunday gathering I missed all Lancisti who turned up on Saturday (yes, that's my personal mini-grudge here). But from what I heard, there were twice as many cars on Sunday as there were on Saturday, so technically, I was lucky.

It's also funny that I mentioned the kids in my previous post and it just happened to be one of the subjects on the forums, too. Great minds think alike?

"The Book". Well, I managed to get hold of one chapter of it about Harry Manning. Yes, I've never met Harry, but my dad has, so I've had a brief intro before reading the story. In my opinion, it was beautifully written and put together very well (I may be biased, but you know I'm right!) Don't know if it's the final draft or not, but nevertheless it was a great read. Can't wait for the book now!

Now, the Lancisti. It's been great meeting you all, shame I had to leave early, but there's always the next time. And I swear, I will not be saying this next year. I will get to see everyone next time, and I mean everyone.

I'm taking the liberty here to send you to Tony Harrison's Flickr for the AGM photographs, as he's your man for the visual coverage (and for snapping the Hunter!) Yep, that's me there somewhere with Brian, Alan, Terry and his wife.
