Hello TwinCam!

Happy Sunday! This is my first attempt at documenting recent events in the garage, but as I have warned you earlier, it might be a bit slow going. Also, remember that my knowledge on the technical side is well limited (mind you, I know what a caliper is!) and I am still learning. With that in mind, let's start!

Our working base is a standard sized garage, so you can imagine that there's limited space and lots of health and safety issues. Our main task at the time was to get the engine on the stand. There were 4 initial stages:

1. Assessing the situation
2. Realising that it's impossible to do in our working conditions without a crane
3. Sourcing a crane
4. Getting the crane in the garage

Here's the result:

To be honest, I didn't get involved in the process, so to make up for my inactivity I have offered my help in the cleaning department, you know, being a girl and all that! In fact, I was even toying with the idea of getting myself some pink overalls. Anyway, the first thing was draining the oil and then taking the sump off.

As you see from the pictures, I have managed to do both tasks fairly well (with some help, of course), and believe it or not, I came out of garage as clean as I was when I went in. That's the advantage of being a girl, we're ridiculously tidy!
And then there was degreasing! Luckily, me and the paint thinners were tolerant of each other and I didn't get to see any pink elephants (or shall that be "red elefantinos"?) To be honest, I know I got it fairly clean, but I still couldn't see the difference.
That's it for now. If you've managed to get to the end of this post without falling asleep, then there's a little bonus here.

Date for your diary: 10th July, Cadwell Park, Classic Sports Car Championship. Click HERE for more details about the event. Watch out for the little red Montecarlo driven by Geoff Ward! Check out his SITE and his BLOG for more info and updates.
