Yes, it is in our drive. No, it's not my dad's. My dad's Beta is 1) grey, and 2) in pieces right now. Speaking of dad's car, I have actually done some work on it today (nothing fancy, just unscrewing a few pipes to release the engine), but I'm well proud of my input.
Anyway, this Beta belongs to a dear friend of mine, Steve. Well, to tell you the truth, he is my dad's friend, but as you know, those kinds of friendships never remain exclusive to one person in the family, therefore Steve is officially my friend, too. When I was in college, Steve and I used to go and see local tribute bands. And non-tribute bands. And other shows. In fact, it was Steve who took me to see Rush the other week, so you get the idea. We like our music and we like to go out.
Apart from being a Rush fan, Steve is also a fully fledged Lancista. At one point he used to have 3 Lancias: Dedra, Beta and a little Y10 (which made it to the NEC display some years ago!) So when I got back from France, I thought I'd ask Steve if he could come in his Beta one day, so I could take some pictures for my blog website. And he did, so here are some fresh snaps.
P.S. This Beta wasn't polished just for the photoshoot, it is always like this. Steve is the tidiest man I know and his cars are the sparkliest and shiniest ones I have ever seen!
P.P.S. I'm off to AutoItalia @ Stanford Hall next Sunday. I know that most people are all up to date about my identity (thanks to Google!), but if you are still in the dark, then give me a shout at spot.a.lancia@gmail.com and I'll come over and say hi. Mind you, it's my birthday on Saturday, so I may not look my best the morning after. But I shall do my best.
P.P.P.S. Steve's coming, too, so you may say hi to him as well!
