The Sunday Lancia Times

This spotting thing is getting easier and easier, I'm telling you. Spotted in The Sunday Times this morning.

Lancia Motor Club AGM July 2011

It's all happening! I've made it to the LMC AGM on Sunday and I bring you my trophies. There were over 80 cars and I thought that if I take picture of every single one, I will not have time for anything else. So here are my personal favourites of the day.
Little Y10, all alone in its class
Thesis - the 100th Anniversary edition
My favourite one
Hyena (long time no see!)
Beta Spider
Fulvia with crazy tuning
Zagato beast

To tell you the truth, it was a great day. The weather was pretty warm, could have done with an ice cream van! And a bouncy castle for the kids. Some of them looked well bored, but I can understand that. Try listening to your dad do the the tech talk for hours and hours and stay awake. Mind you, when those kids grow up, they will be the future of the LMC, so it's better they get used to it from the early age...

P.S. I was going to do a massive report on the AGM, but to be honest, I think I'll leave you with the pictures for now and do a write up later. That'll keep me focused...

Just what the Hunter ordered

You know how some people ask for holiday gifts? Well, my request was well predictable. "Ooooh, you're off to Italy? Snap some Lancias for me!" - "But we're off to Venice..." Now, why would you go to Italy and stay in a such a car-unfriendly place?

Anyway, luckily for me, Italy wasn't the only country on the cards, so I ended up with some quality snaps from the neighbouring islands. Lucky lucky me!

The one that got away

This one was snapped in Spain last month, but I had to wait ages to get this picture as it wasn't on my phone! Technology, eh? Anyways, apologies for not posting for the whole week, but I have to say in my defense that everyone is on holidays and I have been a bit busy with other things. However, do watch this space as the Hunter and Co have been up to their usual mischief and we've got some fun stuff coming up later this week! Stay intrigued!
P.S. Happy Fathers Day to The Dad (who is enjoying the sun in Turkey at the moment, lucky lucky lucky!) and to all other Dads out there!

Spanish Lancias

Just a couple for a start, as you can imagine, I have hundreds of pictures and going through all of them is a bit of an ordeal! And also, watch out tomorrow for a Stratos event post, I have some amazing info for all you Stratos lovers!

Blogoversary

So, I've made my first post on 23rd September 2010.

Today this blog is 7 months old. I'd like to do the obvious thing and thank my readers and followers for sticking around for so long. Also, special thanks go to my Dad, Ryan (my designated illustrator) and Greg who is my writing expert (yes, someone actually proof reads what I write. Sometimes). And of course, massive thank you to all Lancisti out there who took their time to email me with their kind words and suggestions.

And here's my present - a little Ypsilon with Italian plates. I would have taken a picture from the front, but then I realised that the driver was still inside. I don't think he was impressed!!

Now, a question for all of you out there. I'm off to Spain very soon. Barcelona. Does anyone know anything interesting there that is Lancia related? I mean, of course I'll be trying my best to snap some Spanish Lancisti (and not to get pickpocketed whilst doing that), but maybe someone knows of something more exciting? If you do - spot.a.lancia@gmail.com is waiting for your emails!

April Lancias

Happy Tuesday and welcome to the first post of the month! See, I have conveniently missed April Fool's Day, because you know, the only joke I could come up with is announcing that I am changing my blog name to spot-a-chrysler.com. Or worse, spot-a-prius. Apologies to those, who may be driving one, but in my humble opinion, it is the ugliest car ever made, closely followed by Nissan Leaf. Why all supposedly good things for the environment are so damn ugly? Speaking of ugly, there was a joke about a new Lancia-Chrysler model called Lancia Uglina. How awful!

Anyway, I have another Dedra and Ypsilon for you here. So enjoy. And remember, next week is a Tour Auto week and you'll be totally spoilt, so don't forget to check the blog for updates and pictures! Also, I have a massive post coming up about Viva Lancia magazine, Jack Romano and werewolves. Are you intrigued yet? Because you should be! (Mind you, Viva Lancia readers may have figured this one out already!)

La Lancia de Triomphe (Picture of the week)

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I proudly present you... la Lancia de Triomphe! Now, a mini-competition for you all out there: how many Lancias, Chryslers and Fiats can you actually spot in this picture? (Hint: there's more than one Lancia!!)

Weekly Lancias & Deal of the Week

Hello and welcome back to the Weekly Lancias! This week's trophies aren't exactly your dream cars, but do read on, there are back stories to laugh at and also, some info that might save you a few quid (we all love bargains, don't we?)
Anyway, I was walking to my French class the other day and thinking dark thoughts. My language centre is miles away and it usually takes me 30 minutes to walk there (one way), so I have plenty of time to think! I thought to myself, all Lancias that I've seen on the road in the past few months were pretty conservative in terms of colour. How cool would it be to snap a red one to post on my blog (seeing that it's spring now and all that)! And guess what? I turn the corner and there she is, my red beauty, parked outside my language centre. I might try thinking about the winning lottery numbers next time!

Now, swiftly moving onto my deal of the week. There's Silverstone Classic happening in July (22-24th), and if you like the look of it, there is a 10% ticket discount code that can be found on the Planet Rock website. So if you haven't bought your ticket yet, get your code and save yourself about £3. Every little helps.

P.S. Yes, not only I like old cars, I also listen to Planet Rock radio. Technically, that should make me at least 40 years old, but I can assure you, I'm not even in my mid twenties just yet!
P.P.S. Wishbone Ash are playing at this event as well. Thinking about it, I saw them live quite a few times when I was at college. I've also met the band, interviewed Andy Powell and put together a DVD of Ashcon 2005. I was quite a fan back then!

Weekly Lancias

Well... hello and welcome back if you're still following this blog after the New Lancia Chrysler Badge controversy. First of all, thanks to all of you who got the joke. And thanks for all your emails as well. Also, a special thank you goes out to Brian who posted it on the LMC forums (I can't post there as I am not a member, unfortunately, so I only get to look through them).

Now then, I have decided to introduce a new section for this blog and it will be called Weekly Lancias. It will be published every Sunday and it will contain the pictures I take during the week. Seeing that I am working on other new content and ideas, it seemed like a good plan to put all my weekly findings into one post rather than devote a new post to each picture. Mind you, if I happen to spot something extremely rare and exciting, I will dedicate a whole post to it. Unfortunately, this week has been not very fruitful, but here goes...

New Year's Lancia (surreal one)

Snapped near Trocadero on NYE.

Second picture obviously shows how good I am with the camera when intoxicated. Happy 2011 (belated) to you all!

Back to basics

Nothing new today, just another Ypsilon. Don't judge me just yet, I haven't had a chance to get out much, but don't worry, lots of auto events are happening and I'm already on the case :)

Paris Motorshow

Whew, sorry for all delays, but I have finally made it to the show! While I'm working on a mini report for the next post you can enjoy the pictures!

Elefantino blu anyone?

I'm finally back in the UK for a few days, so I have managed to get some pics off my phone and post them here. One at a time though. This golden (well, orange) boy was snapped by Pere Lachaise cemetary. I apologise for the quality of the photographs, it's only an in-phone camera. You can't really see the elefantino between the doors, but you can see a blue spot, so you know it's there :)
...more to come!

P.S. I'm off to www.epoquauto.com in November. Can't wait!
